<p>Before a game is released to the public, it undergoes rigorous quality assurance testing to find and fix bugs. QA testers help spot glitches as well as evaluate other aspects of the game as a “first end user” (a player who hasn’t worked on or experienced the game before). QA Testing for Games, which was designed with direct industry feedback from professional developers like EA Tiburon, Epic Games, and Insomniac, covers the skills required to QA test games, from best practices and tools of the trade to career paths in QA testing.</p>

QA Testing for Games

Students are introduced to quality assurance basics and become familiar with QA tools of the trade.

Introduction

Students get familiar with the game they’ll be testing and learn how to find and report bugs.

Testing Cycle 1 – Alpha Build

Students create game test plans, learn about game testing life cycles, and playtest the game’s second build.

Testing Cycle 2 – Beta Build

Students learn how to create a dashboard in Jira, how to update their bug reports, and how to analyze their test plans.

JIRA Workflow

Students playtest the game’s final build, update their bug reports, and continue to analyze their test plans.

Final Testing Cycle

Students learn about the end of development cycles and QA best practices.

Closing a Development Cycle

This section covers possible career paths in the QA industry, from entry-level roles to project management positions.
